About Waconia Area Community Bands
Waconia Area Community Bands - Wind Ensemble - Big Band - Brass ensemble Woodwind Ensemble The Waconia Area Community Band was established in 2003 as a way to give adults who play instruments an opportunity to continue playing music. There are over 25 members in this group, which includes high school students and adults who play a variety of musical selections. This group begins rehearsing in October, performs holiday pieces in December, classic band selections at a March concert, then ends the season with Music in the Park in June. Now in its forth year, the Waconia Community Jazz Band, "JazzHounds Big Band", performs big band jazz music in all styles. All groups are available to perform for private, community and corporate functions. New members are welcome and no audition is necessary. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings at Waconia Senior High School. Visitors are welcome to sit in anytime. Members also participate in small ensembles including Brass Quintet, Jazz Combo, and woodwind ensemble
